We Tried 10 Fitness YouTubers and This is What We Think

The increasing popularity of fitness influencers has led to the dilemma of being forced to choose between them. To help make that decision, we decided to review 10 famous YouTubers based on difficulty, sustainability and enjoyability (such as music, coaching technique, etc). This is solely based on our personal experiences and body types; we urge you to explore for yourself and discover what suits you.

1. Chloe Ting

Chloe Ting is trending as one of the most popular fitness YouTubers due to the impressive results of her free workout programs. These are relatively easier to follow as compared to most other YouTubers due to her structured day-to-day plan which is why I would rate her a 9/10 in terms of sustainability along with a 7/10 in terms of difficulty and 6/10 in terms of enjoyability.

2. Lilli Sabri

Lilli Sabri’s superpower is her motivating energy that ensures a productive workout session and forces out the best in you. I personally loved how extensively the workout incorporated cardio for fat loss and weight reduction; however, it does make her workouts more challenging. I’d rate it an 8/10 for difficulty, 7/10 for sustainability and 8/10 for enjoyability.

3. Whitney Simmons

Whitney Simmons advocates that exercise is a lifestyle change for mental and physical healthcare rather than forcing your body into unrealistic beauty standards. She’s known for her gym workouts that incorporate light weights to spice up regular compound movements; however this may not be viable for everyone. I would rate her a 5/10 in terms of sustainability, 7/10 in terms of difficulty, and 6/10 in terms of enjoyability.

4. Madfit

Maddie Lymburner’s fitness programs are the perfect choice for you if you like short, fun and engaging routines. For her more advanced videos, she gives excellent instructions on maintaining posture while also offering an easier and more innovative alternative with peppy dance workouts. I’d rate her 9/10 for enjoyability, 8/10 for sustainability and 6/10 for difficulty.

5. April Han

April Han’s channel focuses on isolation-based exercises, however these are relatively easier than most other vloggers. Most of her videos are in Mandarin; however, subtitles are provided for non-Mandarin speakers. Overall, I rate her a 4/10 in difficulty, a 7/10 in sustainability and a 4/10 in enjoyability.

6. Cassie Ho

If you love body weight exercises, Cassie Ho is the one for you. Her wide variety of videos, positive outlook and constant encouragement leaves you feeling refreshed and energized. She also comes out with a monthly calendar but, if you are a beginner, I would suggest starting with just a couple of her videos per day as the monthly schedule can get quite rigorous. I would rate her a 6/10 for sustainability, a 7/10 for enjoyability and a 9/10 for difficulty.

7. Natasha Oceane

Natasha Oceane has some amazing no impact HIIT workouts and if you're someone who likes to exercise with music, then her videos will be a good fit for you. I found her workouts to be the perfect intensity for a day when you want to challenge yourself but are not at the peak of your fitness journey. I would rate her a 6/10 for difficulty, an 8/10 for sustainability and a 7/10 for enjoyability.

8. Pamela Reif

Pamela Reif is perfect if you are a beginner and like low intensity exercises. A lot of her videos are around the 10 minute mark which is great if you are in the need for a quick workout on a busy day. Her playlist motivates you to keep going which is why I would rate her a 7/10 for enjoyability, a 8/10 for sustainability and a 4/10 for difficulty.

9. Emi Wong

Emi Wong should be your go to channel if you are looking for workouts that are 30 minutes or over and challenge every muscle group extensively. If you are someone looking to build your endurance but are just starting out, her variety should be perfect for you. I would rate her a 7/10 on sustainability. On enjoyability, I would rate her a 6/10 and while the difficulty levels of her workouts vary a lot, if I had to, I would give it a 7/10.

10. Holly Dulke

Holly Durke has some very innovative at home workouts that require no equipment. If you’re a beginner with no idea where to start, I would recommend her videos as she has short but effective workouts with an intensity which keeps you engaged but doesn't scare you off. For this, I would rate her a 6/10 on difficulty, a 7/10 on sustainability and a 6/10 on enjoyability.
