The Twin Turbo Furious is a unique watch made by Jacob & Company. For a price of $560,000, it sounds like a vintage Mercedes OM 603 Motor. The watch was designed by Jacob himself, an ex-owner of one OM 603, to bring back memories of the old diesel motors.
The watch comes in gold & carbon cases, limited to 18 pieces per case with a maximum production of 2 watches per month. Jacob and Company also collaborated with Bugatti to celebrate the evolution of a partnership born when a Bugatti edition of the Twin Turbo Furious was launched - a 110-piece limited edition exclusive to Bugatti owners.
The back of the watch is stylized as the hood of the car where you can see the gears of the watch turning with a meter repeater, a chronograph, twin Tourbillons and a power reserve meter. The watch has a power reserve of 50 hours. The watch uses high-speed sequential twin tourbillons to increase the accuracy of the timekeeping - a trait characteristic of the creators of this watch.
The minute repeater of the watch also emits a beautiful sound unique to the watch . The chronograph minute counter is a one button counter, allowing the user to start, stop and reset the inbuilt chronograph (also known as a stopwatch) using the same button. This is extremely difficult to produce and is another peculiarity of the Twin Turbo Furious.
In conclusion, the Twin Turbo Furious is a timepiece virtuosically crafted for the niche market of the lovers of both cars and watches. Its unique features make the price point of the watch reasonable to its target audience - the world’s richest. The watch represents an incredible revolution in watchmaking that originates from Jacob and Company, making this watch a timeless bastion of the art of modern watchmaking.
