Boredom is something that’s been plaguing all of us for the past couple of days. It kills your creativity and often the end result is just you staring at your phone, scrolling through Instagram for hours. It’s agreeably not the best way to spend your time- but it’s hard to find things to do when you’re stuck at home.
So, if you’re struck with boredom unable to find something less mind-numbing to do, here’s a list of some of the ways you can waste your time without feeling too guilty.
1. Learn How to Cook
Find your favourite recipe online and give it a whirl. The best part is that you get to eat it afterward.
2. Have a Spa Day
Take this opportunity to pamper yourself a bit. All you need are some face masks, aromatherapy candles, and a good playlist.
3. Get Active
Whether it’s relaxing yoga or a full workout, being active will get rid of some of those mental cobwebs too.
4. Pick up a New Hobby
There are many things you can start practicing indoors: knitting, sketching, singing, to name a few.
5. Sort out your Closet
Go through your closet and get rid of all the clothes you haven’ t worn in over 6 months. Keep them in a pile ready to donate once we can leave our houses!
6. Start an Online Course
Many universities and websites like Coursera are offering free online courses- and they’re not just academic. Pick up a useful skill and keep your brain active!
7. Do one thing you've been putting off
There’s always something that you tell yourself you’ll do later. Whether it’s writing that book you wanted to, creating a YouTube tutorial or just calling your grandmother. Do it.
These are strange times, and while some of these suggestions may sound a little outlandish to you at first, give them a shot. If not now, then when?
